Promoting good food, healthy living and economic sustainability in underserved communit

OUR MISSION

BUILDING HEALTHY ECONOMICS

In most under served communities, there are very few actual businesses that exist. And very few, if any, would enable youth from the neighborhood to train or work there.

Also, the majority of students attending these schools, upon graduation, seek to leave their community as soon as the opportunity arises for a "better," "safer," place.

Which led us to view this issue from a "communities perspective."

If education is the passort to the future, as Malcolm X once said, how does education benefit the future of the community?

Especially, if those who attain it, leave?

In formulating the Healthy Economics Plan, one of our goals is to inspire local residents to become educated/ trained to provide the various needs and wants determined by the community.

Since every community has a high school, and high school students are just at the age when they should begin attaining work experience, the Familyhood Connection’s Healthy Economics Model, designates the high school in every community as the nucleus for community organizing and community development.

Currently, we are in various stages of development.
